Coe vice president is Corridor’s chief marketing officer of the year

Julie Kleis Staker ’93
Vice President for Admission and Marketing
Falling in love with Coe is easy to do. Julie Kleis Staker ’93 fell in love as a student, then even more so as an admission counselor and assistant director of admissions from 1994-1998. And, true to the adage — Once a Kohawk, Always a Kohawk — she returned to her roots as Senior Associate Director of Operations at Coe in 2006.
The last six years have been particularly pivotal in Staker’s career. Since the 2012-2013 academic year, Coe has enrolled the six largest full-time student bodies in its history, making Coe one of the fastest growing colleges in the state. Accomplishing this milestone is especially significant since the higher education landscape for recruitment is currently at its most challenging.
The Corridor Business Journal C-Suite Awards recognize C-level executives who have made an outstanding contribution to their organization’s performance and leadership over the past three years. Local executives were chosen in the categories of chief financial officer, chief human resources officer, chief operating officer, chief technology officer and chief marketing officer.
“Julie is an integral part of Coe’s senior staff team. She works to continuously revolutionize Coe’s recruitment and marketing efforts. Her dedication and unfailing determination have certainly paid off. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Julie.” Coe College President David McInally said.
Staker was recognized as the Corridor Business Journal’s chief marketing officer of the year at a Nov. 7 awards luncheon and is profiled in the Nov. 12 issue of the “Corridor Business Journal.”
A genuine love for her alma mater coupled with a passion for recruitment and marketing paved the way to one of the Corridor’s top commendations.
