Coe Marquis Series presents harpist and solo artist Lara Somogyi

Harpist and solo artist Lara Somogyi
Coe College Marquis Series presents harpist and solo artist Lara Somogyi at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The concert will be held in the Daehler-Kitchin Auditorium in Marquis Hall on Coe’s campus. Using electronics, looper and fx pedals, Lara developed a unique sound that is inspiring a movement as she forges a new artistic identity for the harp.
Somogyi is a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and in addition to being a composer-performer, she is an active session harpist. Recently, Somogyi was brought to Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers studio to compose and improvise material for the score to “Blue Planet II,” featuring Radiohead. As an active live artist, Somogyi is called upon for her unique combination of electroacoustic harp and fx pedals as well as her improvisation and compositional arrangements. She recently has performed live with artists such as Anderson .Paak, Bazzi and Josh Groban.
For the remainder of the 2018-2019 academic year, the Marquis Series includes:
