Coe College Marquis Series presents political sportswriter Dave Zirin

Coe College is proud to host political sportswriter Dave Zirin. Named one of UTNE Reader’s “50 Visionaries Who Are Changing Our World,” Zirin is nationally known as an author, columnist for The Nation magazine and host of Sirius XM Radio’s popular “Edge of Sports” podcast. Zirin is also a columnist for SLAM magazine and the Progressive.
His most recent book is the acclaimed “Game Over: How Politics Has Turned the Sports World Upside Down.” Christine Brennan of USA Today called it “the perfect book for our time in sports.”
As a guest on multiple television programs, Zirin has shared his views on sports and politics on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines,” MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” ESPN Classic, CNN, “The Rachel Maddow Show,” C-SPAN’s “BookTV” and “Democracy Now!” with Amy Goodman. He has also been on numerous national radio programs including National Public Radio’s “Tell Me More,” “Talk of the Nation” and “All Things Considered.”
Zirin’s discussion on politics and sports is open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. on March 22 in Sinclair Auditorium on the Coe College campus.
