MACRO Telescope Consortium

MACRO
MACRO is a group of midwest colleges that operates a half-meter remote-controlled telescope housed at Winer Observatory in Sonoita, Arizona.
Macalester, Augustana, and Coe colleges joined forces to manage this Remote Observatory to provide a unique opportunity for their students to access the universe.
The central instrument of MACRO is the Robert L. Mutel Telescope (pictured right), a state-of-the-art Cassegrain reflector telescope with a back-illuminated CCD camera, a 12 position filter wheel, a custom grism spectrometer and a reflection grating spectrometer.
