Coe History Project
The Coe History Project attempts to provide a comprehensive repository of primary and secondary documents portraying the first 100 years of Coe College, 1851-1951.
Most of the website's historical essays were originally composed by students in a series of Honors Composition classes. Since the research, drafting, revising, and editing of each text involved multiple students over a ten-year period, these essays are posted without attempting to identify specific authors. In addition to the students' compositions, the website reproduces many original documents retrieved from the college’s archives, including memoirs, photos, scrapbooks, journals, letters, Cosmos and Courier articles, radio scripts, historical pamphlets, and a master's thesis on the early history of Coe.
